Senior Middle Office Analyst

We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our highly regarded Global Middle Office team, based in London. In this role, you’ll be right at the heart of our trading business, playing a key part in shaping and improving critical processes that keep our operations running smoothly.

You’ll take ownership of daily economic valuation, exposure, and attribution reporting, as well as monthly IFRS-compliant reporting, ensuring accuracy and insight for senior stakeholders. You’ll also manage Independent Price Verification (IPV) and market curve data, while supporting the successful launch of new products, markets, and commercial opportunities.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Reporting & Control: Daily economic P&L revaluation, exposure reporting and full attribution of any daily changes, with focus on more complex structures and derivatives.
  • Support the team in the preparation of the daily Economic P&L, Financial Exposure Reporting and understanding any change in this; 
  • Conduct any ad-hoc/one-off portfolio analysis upon both the Front Office or any other Support Function requests with regards to both the economic and IFRS valuation impact of a new commercial transactions/hedging strategy
  • Provide independent challenge to / support of the commercial functions, along with ensuring DLC integrity is adhered to 
  • Monthly IFRS compliant revaluations, and full explanation and understanding of any valuation differences, closely work with the book owners to ensure all changes in Exposure and P&L attribution is aligned to expectations;

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

  • Prior experience in a Middle Office or Risk role, environment dealing with policy and documentation generation, reporting, controls and systems development.
  • Good understanding of the energy commodity market, with prior expertise in one or more asset in this list is strongly preferred; LNG, Oil or Metals.
  • Experience in commodity valuations, across both linear structures and non-linear products (Vanilla Options, Storage, Transportation) is required, preferably exposure to the underlying physical products as well as financial derivatives. 
  • Excellent Excel skills is mandatory; Competency in VBA/SQL/Python or any other programming language is a desired.
