A senior leadership opportunity to lead and shape the LNG Financial Trading function, driving portfolio optimisation, risk management and commercial value creation across a global LNG business. You will combine deep market expertise, strategic thinking and trading leadership to execute financial trading and hedging strategies, optimise optionality across the LNG portfolio and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced, highly commercial environment.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

• Lead and develop the LNG Financial Trading team, driving performance, collaboration and capability growth across traders and analysts.
• Define and execute financial trading, hedging and portfolio optimisation strategies across the global LNG portfolio.
• Manage financial and derivative activities across LNG, gas, oil and freight markets, ensuring effective risk-adjusted returns.
• Provide strategic market insights and pricing guidance to senior LNG Trading leadership, identifying risks and commercial opportunities.
• Partner closely with LNG Physical Trading and Origination teams to maximise portfolio value through integrated physical and financial trading strategies.
• Analyse contractual flexibility and optionality, developing innovative solutions to monetise commercial opportunities.
• Oversee portfolio exposures, mark-to-market performance, VaR, liquidity and stress testing, ensuring alignment with approved risk frameworks.
• Lead proprietary trading activities within agreed risk limits, contributing directly to desk profitability and overall P&L performance.
• Drive enhancements to trading models, pricing tools, analytics and reporting capabilities to support informed decision-making.
• Collaborate across commodities, particularly with Gas Trading and other trading desks, to optimise enterprise-wide portfolio performance and trading efficiency.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

• Significant experience within physical and financial energy markets, with strong expertise across LNG, European and US gas, oil and freight markets.
• Proven track record in financial trading, hedging, derivatives execution and OTC markets.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing trading professionals within high-performance environments.
• Deep understanding of options, structured products, volatility trading and portfolio optimisation strategies.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex market dynamics into profitable trading opportunities.
• Expertise in contractual analysis, optionality valuation and the monetisation of commercial flexibility.
• Advanced knowledge of risk management frameworks, valuation methodologies, market exposure management and trading controls.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex portfolios and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior trading and business leaders.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline.
