Settlement Analyst

IN SHORT

As a Settlement Analyst you will ensuring the timely settlement of a variety of products such as Physical Gas, Power, Metals,  Environmental Products, Green Certificate, Derivative and FX trades. Working closely with Front Office you will support and initiate improvements to the trading systems and workflow processes within Settlements, Finance and across FO. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO

As a Settlements Analyst you will work across the organisation and with counterparties to ensure the timely settlement of trades. You will;

  • Liaise with various teams within the organisation from Risk Management, Legal, IT, Finance, Treasury and Credit teams to ensure integrity of data within the trading system to accurate reporting within defined timescales
  • Supporting the trading desk in counterparty relationships and in ensuring quality information flows across the business and taking action to resolve any dispute
  • Production of invoices for the various commodities and products according to the specific contractual terms by generating sales and purchase invoices, including detailed backup
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports and relevant commentary to Management.
  • Maintaining excellent working relationships with counterparties and other teams within the organisation 

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

Your excellent written and verbal communication skills along with your attention to detail is key to success. Good organisational skills is important along with your ability to meet tight deadlines to be successful in this role. Ideally you will have worked in an energy trading environement and you will also ideally have; 

  • Experienced in settlement / invoicing processes for energy trades and related products (preferred)
  • Worked with trading counterparties and had direct contact with trading desk
  • Previous experience working in a matrix environment
  • A working knowledge of trading systems, preferably ENDUR
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as an individually
  • Commercially astute with the ability to develop and understand issues
  • Educated to degree level standard (or equivalent) desirable.
