A Power & Cross-Commodities Trader you will proprietry trade across European Power and Gas Markets.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a Power & Cross-Commodities Trader you will drive commercial performance through trading strategies across European power and gas markets. You’ll identify, develop, and execute opportunities in fuel spreads, time spreads, locational and directional trades—leveraging both plain vanilla and complex derivatives. Your expertise will help shape our position across interconnected commodities and optimize returns in a dynamic, fast-moving market landscape. You Will be responsible for:
• Develop and manage trading ideas/strategies in the European power and gas markets.
• Contribute to the fundamental analysis and modelling of the European power and gas market. Ability to develop own models and drive and and collaborate with analysts.
• Work with the analysts and traders to develop wider market strategies in wider books
• Work with the gas, oil, LNG and emissions traders to develop and execute cross commodity strategies.
• Accurate daily reporting of trades, positions and P&L. Management of trading risk; within agreed limits and due regard to market liquidity.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Your previous experience in trading European Gas and Power markets is essential. With a consistent PnL delivery from power derivatives is key for success. You will also have;
• Masters degree in STEM or equivalent experience
• Follow, understand and be able to explain news stories about Power networks, markets, companies and regulations to non technical people
• Worked collaboratively with analysts and traders to develop wider market strategies
• Ability to develop own models and drive and and collaborate with analysts including a strong underrstanding of fundamentals
