Gas Trader

IN SHORT

As a Trader you will manage both structured gas trades and prop trading utilising your deep fundamental understanding of the global and European gas market and related commodity markets. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Gas Trader, you will contribute to a shared asset trading book and have ownership of a proprietary trading book, integrating fundamental and macro insights. You will also

  • Promote collaboration between assets trading and fundamental analysis teams
  • Drive innovation in asset strategies, focusing on storage and transportation capacities
  • Co-manage a shared structured gas asset book and offer primary cover when required
  • Contribute to valuation and hedging of new structured trades
  • Develop and articulate trading views within the broader asset strategy

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Your extensive history of gas trading in storage and transport combined with your excellent commercial instinct, integrity, and perseverance, will lead you to success. The strong quantitative skills and excellent knowledge of complex modeling and pricing is key. You will also: 

 
  • Accurately book and report trades, positions, and P&L on a daily basis
  • Previous experience within the European gas market
  • Monitor and manage trading risk within predefined limits
  • Proven track record of successful PnL generation in similar high pressure environments over mutliple years both in asset trading and proprietary trading
  • The ability to multitask under pressure while staying results-oriented
  • A clear-thinking, flexible approach to problem solving
  • Fluency in English
