Email Lead

IN SHORT

The Email Team Lead is responsible for overseeing MS Exchange systems across on-premises and the cloud, working hands-on and managing a small but efficient team of engineers in a heavily automated and robust environment, while ensuring security and compliance. As part of a wider team responsible for workplace engineering, they develop strategies, optimize performance, integrate with other systems and engage with stakeholders to support organizational goals around email and overall Workplace Engineering requirements.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO


Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Email engineers, setting goals and managing team performance and workload.

Technical Oversight: Overseeing the development and maintenance of the email system's operation, security, and integration with other business tools..

Policy Development and Enforcement: Establish and enforce email policies and standards to ensure compliance and best practices.

System Optimization and Upgrades: Lead efforts to consolidate and optimize email system performance and manage upgrades and patches. Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements in processes and tools (owned by the team and parallel ones) to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team's work.

Security and Risk Management: Ensure the email infrastructure is secure against threats and manage risks associated with email communications using tools as Defender for 365 (ATP) and Mail-Flow rules, as well manage compliance in tools such as Purview and Enterprise Vault. .

Disaster Recovery, backup and Continuity: Oversee disaster recovery and backup planning as well business continuity for email services.

Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure the email system supports organizational goals. Collaboration: Coordinating with cross-functional teams such as networks, security, and application teams to align infrastructure initiatives as it relates to Windows end user environment.

Mentorship, Training and Documentation: Providing guidance and training to team members and to Workplace Operations team, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing, as well maintaining and creating processes and supporting documentation. .

Performance Reporting and KPIs: Consolidate and report on performance KPIs, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING


Knowledge of relevant technologies such as: Exchange server, Exchange online and PostFix email  technologies, security practices and protocols, as well compliance, backup and security tools as: Purview, Enterprise Vault, Commvault, and Defender For Office 365 (ATP). 

Exposure and understanding of the Microsoft Modern Workplace approach around: Entra, Intune, Teams, App Registration, Enterprise apps and Licenses management. As well automation and integrations with technologies as: Azure DevOps, Azure Automation Accounts, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Dell One Identity, ServiceNow and similar.  

•    Ability to develop and execute strategies for email system management
•    Skills in identifying and mitigating risks associated with email communications
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and team leadership
•    Relevant Certifications related to Exchange, Office 365 Administration, Windows Server
