Senior Application Support Engineer (m/f/d)

IN SHORT

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Responsibility for the stable operation and further development of a defined group of applications in the areas of Planning, Forecasting & Pricing, such as Oracle DB applications, time series databases on Linux servers, as well as cloud-based applications (e.g. Databricks)

  • Incident, problem, and change management, including coordination of external service providers

  • Coordination and execution of updates, patches, and release management

  • Monitoring of systems and interfaces, ensuring compliance with IT security and regulatory requirements

  • Analysis and evaluation of incidents and changes with regard to operational impact and business processes

  • Close collaboration with key users, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements, define priorities, and develop appropriate solutions

  • Support for IT planning, cost monitoring, and contract management

  • Design and execution of tests as part of maintenance activities and projects

  • Support in the design of technical solutions and participation in projects (e.g. related to the harmonization and modernization of the IT landscape)

  • Independent management of operations-related projects and continuous process optimization

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

  • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style, with strong team spirit and a willingness to take ownership of assigned issues

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate technical problems in the context of business processes and KPIs

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills

  • Degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable qualification

  • relevant professional experience

  • Proven experience in the operation and further development of complex applications, preferably in a regulated environment

  • Solid knowledge of incident, problem, and change management (ITIL), as well as test management

  • Technical expertise in Windows and/or Linux server environments and common application servers

  • Basic understanding of cloud architecture and SaaS / PaaS models

  • Knowledge of interface and integration technologies (SOAP, REST, XML, EAI)

  • Ideally, basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java, C#)

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
