Business Tax Manager (m/w/d)

IN SHORT

As a Business Tax Manager (m/f/d) you will be the single point of contact for tax-related matters especially in respect of German direct taxes, for tax filings, entity tax returns and audit responses. Managing the tax affairs, compliance and matters for the assigned German and foreign companies. Supporting the VP and Team Lead CIT in global tax compliance. This role has the tax focus on SEFE Commercial and SEFE Central & Eastern Europe.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Prepare and review the domestic and foreign tax declarations (for corporations and partnerships), incl. the review of tax assessments
  • Prepare tax computations for purposes of the financial statements
  • Provide tax advice regarding the structuring of projects and contracts and for M&A activities (including due diligence advice) and for new formations
  • Participate as tax advisor in strategic and special projects
  • Shareholder and stakeholder reporting
  • Support redress procedures
  • Develop assessments of a wide variety of tax-related issues in an independent manner and draft recomendations for action
  • Perform reviews of customer and supplier contracts from a tax perspective.
  • Serve as a point of contact and interface regarding tax-related matters for other units, subsidiaries, authorities, suppliers and customers. Manage and supervise external tax advisors.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

  • Master's degree or similar qualification (e.g. diploma) or chartered German tax advisor
  • Experience in multinational or professional services environment
  • Extensive experience in direct German taxes, in M&A tax / project work and in international tax matters
  • Proven track record and expert technical skills in respect of direct German taxes, M&A Tax and International Tax thorough understanding of global tax regulations
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate in person or in writing on tax matters in German and English with internal and external stakeholders
