In the IT Infrastructure and Operations department, we are looking for an IT Directory Service Lead Engineer (m/f/d) – responsible for the management, security, system integration and performance of directory services in the Microsoft and M365 environment.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
Directory Services Management
- You operate and further develop Active Directory, Entra ID, OAuth, LDAP, and backup/migration tools, ensuring stability, integrity, and availability.
Policy & Access Control
- You define and enforce policies for user accounts, permissions, and directory structures.
System Integration
- You integrate directory services into existing IT systems and applications.
Security & Compliance
- You ensure adherence to security and compliance requirements and apply best practices in identity and access management.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- You monitor and optimize performance and drive improvements in processes, tools, and automation.
Disaster Recovery & Continuity
- You manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery concepts for directory services.
Stakeholder Management
- You gather business requirements and ensure directory services support organizational goals.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- You collaborate with network, security, cloud, compute, and application teams and contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent qualification
- Certifications in Active Directory, Cloud, or AD/Cloud administration
- Fluent German and English (minimum B2, ideally C1)
- Deep expertise in:
- Active Directory (replication, GPOs, delegation, SPN, schema upgrades, migration tools, backup/restore, PAM/IAM integration: CyberArk, One Identity, ServiceNow)
- Azure Entra ID (Cloud Sync, AD Connect, App registrations, Conditional Access, Identity Governance, licensing, Entra ID Protection, Defender for Identity, Log Analytics, roles/PIM, Purview governance reports)
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Modern Workplace (Exchange Online, Intune, Teams, CoPilot, OneDrive)
- Experience with automation (Azure DevOps, Automation Accounts, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible)
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement skills, growth mindset, and innovation drive
- Experience with frameworks such as NIST, TOGAF, PRINCE2, AGILE
- Mentoring experience at a senior level
