IN SHORT
We are looking for a dedicated professional, based in Kassel and/or Berlin, to drive the structured development, evaluation, and implementation of viable business models for low-carbon solutions – from identifying customer needs to creating investor-ready opportunities. Projects range from customer decarbonization solutions to global project partnerships and the purchasing of hydrogen and its derivatives, biomethane, CCUS and CO₂ management, as well as alternative solutions that expand SEFE’s existing business.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Structured development, evaluation, and implementation of viable business models for low carbon solutions – spanning from customer needs to generation of investor ready opportunities
- Identify, explore, promote, develop, negotiate and close commercial opportunities and contracts along the whole value chain and elaborate end-to-end business cases
- Lead and develop commercial deals along the stage-gate process; from origination to commercial start, partnering with other SEFE Commercial, Sales and Central Functions
- Build origination portfolio based on real customer needs and derive economic opportunities, systematically develop innovative business models to meet those needs
- Inform senior management on a regular basis about project progress; supported by other members of the H2CE in the preparation of decision-making papers and presentations under consideration/in project pipeline
- Establish and drive external commercial negotiations, including identifying opportunities, risks, potential mitigants and requirements including required schedules, involvement and resourcing
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners (government, customers, investors, solution providers), in preparation of commercial projects and deals and to integrate new impulses and resources into the decarbonization solutions
- Validation of scalable structures, robust KPIs, risks, and formalized processes for business growth, reporting, and management to ensure comparability of Sefe’s investment opportunities. Drive commercial positions of Sefe with partners – from LoI, MoU, HoT to JCA and potential JVs
- Development of business cases and financial planning, help teams prepare presentations and pitch decks, and develop financial and decision maturity for internal and external investors (investor ready opportunities)
WHAT WILL YOU BRING
- Master's degree or similar qualification (e.g. diploma)
- Proven international energy commercial experience several years of experience originating, pursuing and closing an array of complex midstream & downstream transactions along the value-chain
- Proven experience of several years successfully realizing commercial transactions in Europe associated with the energy transition, ideally relating to hydrogen and/or its prospective “vectors”, CCUS, CO2 and biomethane
- Expert level of subject matter expertise of the opportunities, risks and mitigants from commercial transactions associated with the transitioning energy systems to clean sources in Europe
- Ability to break down complex business situations into components, identify patterns, and understand the interdependencies between different parts to build profitable businesses
- Developing new, unique, and inventive ways to deliver value and differentiate the business from competitors
- Effectively communicating with stakeholders and working with different teams and functional units to realize vision and goals
- Analyze market dynamics and data to create strategies to achieve business growth
- Understanding financial data and implications to make informed decisions that support business development initiatives
- Overseeing initiatives by setting measurable goals, organizing resources, and ensuring smooth execution to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives
- Strong English communication skills, German skills would be an advantage
