Associate Mergers & Acquisitions (m/f/d)

IN SHORT

As an Associate Mergers & Acquisitions (m/f/d), you will support M&A transactions by actively participating in the entire process—from identifying potential acquisition targets to contract negotiations. You will conduct financial analyses, build valuation models (e.g. DCF and multiples), and assist in preparing business cases and synergy calculations. You will also coordinate due diligence reviews, analyze risks, and work with interdisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will prepare presentations, support decision-making materials and transaction documents, research deal opportunities, analyze market trends, and collaborate closely with teams such as Legal, Tax, and Corporate Finance.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Supporting M&A Transactions: Actively involved in the full M&A process—from identifying potential acquisition targets to contract negotiations

  • Financial Analysis and Valuation: Conduct financial analyses, develop valuation models (DCF, multiples), and support business case and synergy assessments

  • Due Diligence: Coordinate due diligence processes, analyze risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Presentations and Reporting: Prepare presentations and support the development of decision papers and transaction documents

  • Market Research and Deal Sourcing: Research transaction opportunities and analyze market trends

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues from Legal, Tax, and Corporate Finance

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Completed university degree (Bachelor or Master) in economics, finance, business administration, law, or a related field

  • Experience in M&A (e.g. investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, consulting, or transaction advisory)

  • Proficient in analyzing financial metrics, conducting company valuations, and performing market analysis

  • Experience with due diligence processes and analyzing financial and operational data

  • Basic knowledge in developing financial models (e.g. DCF, multiples) and performing company valuations

  • Confident in using Excel and other tools for financial analysis and presentation development

  • Strong communication and analytical skills

  • Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
